| ‘Potentia’ Electric Car Project |
The Sidewaysrules Electric Car project named Potentia after the Latin word for power is designed both to showcase new technology and to demonstrate the performance potential of electric vehicles to the racing community and the general public. Potentia will be something never seen before- an electric super car capable of keeping up with the world’s most famous gas guzzling performance vehicles. But it is not designed simply to race- it is also built for exhibition, be that exhibition an Earth Day event, an educational university tour or a charity fundraiser. Our goal is to show the world that electric vehicles are the way of the future, both on the track and in the driveway.

| ‘Potentia’ :: Design and Performance |
• The car will be built on a lightweight chassis designed for all-wheel drive (AWD) such as the Japanese edition of the Scion tC, the Mitsubishi Evolution or the Subaru STi or WRX.
• The car will be both AWD and RWD (rear-wheel drive). It will be powered by two electric motors, one for the front wheels and another for the rear wheels. With both motors on, the car will be in AWD mode. With the front motor turned off, the car will be in RWD mode. In AWD mode, the car will be suitable for regular driving and in RWD mode it is suitable for drifting. This is a characteristic that no traditional cars possess.
• Each electric motor produces 400 WHP and 1,500 ft./lbs. of torque. Together in AWD mode the motors produce 800 WHP and 3,000 ft/lbs of torque. It is also possible to install a 600 WHP and 2,000 ft./lbs. of torque engine combination.

| ‘Potentia’ :: Events and Publicity |
The electric car project has already garnered an incredible amount of interest. Here is a list of potential events and media coverage.
• Story segments on SpeedTV’s SuperCars Exposed and Top Gear. Several production companies are interested in filming the build for a possible 1-hour special for a network like SpeedTV, Discovery, TLC or National Geographic.
• Exhibition driving at IRL and Formula D events. National Electric Drag Racing Association events, NHRA drag racing, Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, Bonneville events.
• Educational events such as university tours and school assemblies. Presentations would include information about electric vehicles and how they work, how electric vehicles can help the environment, and how we can use this technology in our own lives. We will aim to capture a younger audience by presenting the racing potential of the car and also by making sure that the car is visually appealing. Hands-on demonstrations and tours of the car will make the experience more memorable.
• We would like to work with a charity to give back to the community and to help promote other issues that affect our planet.
• We currently have a tentative schedule with our electric partner, SSI Racing.
• San Diego International Auto Show- December 31, 2008 - January 4, 2009; San Diego, CA
• GoodGuys 9th Del Mar Rod & Custom Nationals- April 3, 4 & 5, 2009; Del Mar, CA
